Environné Fruit and Vegetable Wash started in 1987 with Dr. Donald C. Atkins, a renowned scientist. Dr. Atkins created the fruit and vegetable wash that we now know and love. When we look back, it’s hard to believe that this company started with a single owner, bottling and selling the product from a garage.

This is where Diane Mahoney came into the picture. Diane, our current CEO, learned about Environné while working to support herself as she pursued a degree in Special Education. Helping the original owner with the bottling and the selling of the product launched Diane into an exploration of pesticides and their affect on children's brain development. This is when she began her David vs. Goliath fight to alleviate pesticides and toxins on the produce we eat and around the home environment and she hasn’t looked back.

She went on to purchase the company entirely in 1996 and added the Environné label in 2000, making it possible to branch out further into the rapidly growing market of safe effective natural products for your home. Since then, Environné has added a new product line of household cleaners that provide maximum cleaning power while, at the same time, ensuring that toxic chemicals are not a part of your housecleaning process.

When possible we allow for telecommuting and alternate work schedules because we believe kids’ soccer games, parent-teacher conferences, and family time is just as important as board meetings, sales goals, and operation logistics.
